Birth & Early Life
Shillpa Kataria was born on 3 May 1975 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She has done her schooling from Canossa Convent High School. In 1990, Shillpa pursued her graduation degree from University of Mumbai.
Career
Shillpa started her acting career by making debut in television with 90’s comedy drama serial Abhi Toh Main Jawaan Hoon, as supporting actress. She also appeared in Zee TV serial Dam Dama Dam. In 1999, Shillpa worked with Farida Jalal and Pooja Dadwal in romantic drama serial Ashiqui. In 2002, she played titular role in drama serial Urmila. The serial story revolves around Urmila who struggle to take control over her life, dignity and make an identity of her own.
After working in the serials, Shillpa turned towards modeling and participated as a model in various beauty pageants. She was crowned as 2006 Gladrags Mrs. India. In 2007, Shillpa was winner of Mrs. India Globe and represented India in Mrs. Globe.
Shillpa gained immense popularity for playing the role of Maina Devi in Sony Sab’s mythological serial Dharma Yoddha Garud.
In 2023, Shillpa got grabbed headlines for portraying Nirmala Mishra’s character in drama serial Dheere Dheere Se alongside Reena Kapoor Nijher and Rahil Azam.
