How to Get Podzol
Unlike some items that can be easily crafted, podzol requires a bit more effort to acquire. Follow these steps to add this unique block to your inventory:
1. Find a Block of Podzol
Podzol is not randomly scattered throughout the Minecraft world. To locate this special block, you must venture into an Old Growth Pine Taiga biome. Keep an eye out for its distinctive appearance- resembling dirt but with a mix of orange and green colors.
2. Hold a Tool with Silk Touch
To mine podzol successfully, you need a tool enchanted with Silk Touch. This enchantment ensures that the block drops itself when mined, preserving its unique characteristics. The following tools can be enchanted with Silk Touch:
- Pickaxe (Diamond, Golden, Iron, Stone, Wooden, Netherite)
- Shovel (Diamond, Golden, Iron, Stone, Wooden, Netherite)
- Axe (Diamond, Golden, Iron, Stone, Wooden, Netherite)
In this example, we’ll use an Iron Pickaxe enchanted with Silk Touch.
3. Mine the Podzol
Execute the mining process based on your Minecraft version’s controls:
- For Java Edition (PC/Mac): Left-click and hold on the block of podzol.
- For Pocket Edition (PE): Tap and hold on the block of podzol.
- For Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Windows 10 Edition, and Education Edition: Follow platform-specific control instructions, such as pressing and holding the designated button like ZR, R2, RT.
As you mine the podzol block, a smaller block of podzol will float on the ground.
4. Pick up the Podzol
Swiftly pick up the freshly mined podzol before it disappears. Once collected, it seamlessly integrates into your hotbar, ready for use in your Minecraft endeavors.
