Rishi Singh came into limelight after appearing in India’s largest singing platform Indian Idol season 13 which is an Indian version of music competition television franchise based on the Pop Idol format. The show was judged by Neha Kakkar, Vishal Dadlani and Himesh Reshammiya and hosted by Aditya Narayan. He left everyone stunned with his first performance on ‘Pehla Pehla Pyar’ from movie Kabir Singh. Because of his outstanding performance, judges awarded him with Golden Mic and advanced him straight to the Theatre round.

- Rishi was born and brought up in the ancient city Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh. Hailing from the birthplace of Lord Sri Ram, Rishi is very much cultured and spiritual. During the audition round of Indian Idol, he even brought Prasad for the judges.
- During his audition round, judge Himesh Reshammiya acknowledged his performance as one of the finest audition round performance in the history of Indian Idol.
- Since his childhood, he used to participate in various school level singing competitions, discovering his talent, his friends encouraged him to participate in reality television shows.
- Initially, his parents were not in favor of him opting singing as a full-time career, they insisted to engage in a job which can provide him a reasonable salary. But by seeing his growing popularity and his passion for singing they supported him whole heartedly.
- Rishi made his debut with the song ‘Ilteja Meri’ composed and written by Sudhanshu Gautam and released under the banner of Melodious Records.
