Birth & Early Life
Rupam Bharnarhia was born on 11 January 1999 to Mr. Vijay Kumar and Mrs. Paramjit Kaur in Amritsar, Punjab. She belongs to a musical family where his father used to play Tabla in musical events and his elder brother is a singer. She completed her studies from Amritsar based DAV International School. She then earned her bachelors degree in Arts from Layalpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar.
Career
Rupam rose to prominence from singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in the year 2016. Unfortunately, she did not won the show but was able to win the hearts of judges and audience through her melodious voice. She then appeared in Voice of Punjab season 9 and was immensely appreciated by judges. The show was hosted by Gurjit Singh, VJ Rocky and Mukesh and judged by Sachin Ahuja, Kamal Khan and Malkit Singh.
Rupam grabbed headlines for her performance on India’s biggest singing platform, Indian Idol season 13. The jury includes Neha Kakkar, Vishal Dadlani and Himesh Reshammiya and it was hosted by Aditya Narayan. Rupam’s soulful voice drew everyone’s attention towards it.
